Mecklenburg County Early Childhood Trainings
Thompson Child & Family Focus provides In-Service Training for Early Childhood Professionals to broaden their knowledge base of best practices. By expanding their knowledge, Early Childhood Professionals will be better equipped to impact the quality of their program.
- In order to accomodate all participants, please register by the deadline.
- If a participant is unable to attend, we request that you cancel your registration as soon as possible.
- Trainings are scheduled for 2 hours. Participants who arrive 15 minutes late will not be permitted to attend the training.

Inclusion: Is Your Classroom Ready To Include All? (Wed. 3/7, 6:15 to 8:15pm)
Registration: Open 2/7, Close 3/2. $10 per participant
Participants will discuss benefits and challenges of an inclusive classroom. Strategies for creating successful relationships with parents, teachers and professionals will be shared.
“Read to Me!” Promoting a Literacy Enriched Classroom (Wed. 3/21,6:15 to 8:15pm)
Registration: Open 2/21, Close 3/16. $10 per participant
Participants will have an understanding of the benefits of having a literacy enriched classroom. Participants will also develop and implement a literacy activity.
My Kids are Happy and Socially, Emotionally Competent! (Wed. 4/4, 6:15 to 8:15pm)
Registration: Open 3/5, Close 3/30. $10 per participant
Participants will gain ideas for how to increase social emotional competence in the classroom on an ongoing basis. Strategies for implementing a social emotional curriculum will be discussed.
