| Greetings from the President Dear friends,
Welcome to our most recent edition of FACES. I hope this letter finds you rested, happy, and looking forward to the changing season that fast approaches. As the days slip by—one of the constant anchors here at Thompson is our commitment to “Family.” The families that we meet are dramatically different—they come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, ages, colors, and combinations! And yet, they are amazingly the same—wanting to know how to belong to one another, to love and be loved. I am personally supported and sustained by the daily presence of a large and active family that currently spans four generations. We come together often, always finding new opportunities to share fun moments and deepen our understandings of one another. My four young granddaughters are growing up, safe in the protective circle of family, secure in traditions of that loving connection. That vision of unconditional acceptance and family strength is the key to rewarding, healthy and successful lives for all members of “The Thompson Family.” The children coming into our care desperately need the treatment, education and protection that will stabilize and heal them. Beyond that they need families to nurture their continuing life journeys. Here at TCFF, we recently lost a beloved friend and Trustee, John Yorke, to a long and brave battle with cancer. John was a true advocate for each and every one of Thompson’s children. He worried about them, worked to protect them, and was exceedingly proud of each little victory that they celebrated. Memories of John continue to guide our “Focus” on the entire Thompson Family. I wish you peace in the days ahead,
