At the Thompson Child Development Center, we strive to meet the needs of each child and family served. The enormous responsibility that accompanies leaving your child in our care is never taken lightly. Our staff will do everything we can to make sure that your child is learning, growing, and having fun during their time with us! Quality Programs
The Thompson approach to learning embraces a strong belief in developing nurturing and supportive relationships between children, families and staff. We truly believe that all children can learn with excellence. We also believe that families must play a major role in the care and education of their child. Our quality educational environment includes:

The Thompson Child Development Center holds a Five-Star License from the State of North Carolina (the highest possible) and accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children. We Offer:
- Staff/child ratios that meet or exceed NAEYC recommendations and NC Five Star requirements to help ensure one-on-one interaction and nurturing.
• Infants: 1 to 3
• Toddlers: 1 to 3
• Two-year-olds: 1 to 4
• Pre-school (Three-year-olds): 1 to 8
• Pre-kindergarten (Four-year-olds): 1 to 8
- Programs for children beginning at 6 weeks of age.
- Year-round, full-time care from 6:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. The centers are closed 10 days annually.
- Age appropriate environments and curriculum designed to help your child learn.
- A committed and well-educated staff.
- Family participation opportunities including educational workshops and family-centered festivities.
- Nutritious meals
- Transportation for children living within an 8-mile radius of the Center
- A team of professionals including:
• Speech and Language Specialist
• Occupational Therapist
• Early Intervention Specialist
• Mental Health Counselor
• Play Therapist
