Thompson Child & Family Focus, located in the Charlotte/Matthews area, has multiple openings for a challenging position working with children ages 6-12 in a residential treatment program.  Experience in a group home or residential setting with children preferred.  These positions are responsible for providing direct care to the children in the residential treatment program by providing a safe therapeutic home setting in a positive consistent and structured environment.  This includes mental health support and documentation based on service goals and plans for each consumer. Validdriver’s license and clean driving record required.  All shifts available.Top.


Day Treatment Support Specialist (DTSS): Saint Peter's Lane Campus

The Day Treatment Support Specialist will provide mental health interventions, crisis prevention and intervention, guidance, and expertise in the context of the classroom.  The DTSS will team with the teacher to provide a well-organized, effective learning environment where consumers can develop the skills needed to take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource material.  The ESS will develop positive therapeutic relationships with consumers, engaging them in the learning process, helping them to develop self management & social skills while preparing them for success in a community school setting.  Required education and skills:  Undergraduate degree preferred from an accredited college or university.  Eligible for QP status or experience working in a special education setting preferred.  Primary or secondary educational experience may be acceptedTop.


Intensive In-Home Specialist:  7th Street Campus

QP to work as a member of a 3-person team led by a licensed or provisionally licensed clinician to provide direct and indirect intensive in-home services.  Position requires 24 hour coverage, 7 days a week, on a rotating basis.  Intensive In-home Specialist will be responsible for intervening in crisis situations, providing self-help and living skills training, parenting skills to help the family and assistance with implementation of home-based behavioral supports; All under the clinical direction of the Intensive In-home Lead Therapist.  Minimum of one year of experience working with children and families is required.  Must meet the following requirements:
QP- Bachelors degree in a human service related field + 2 years of post-bachelor’s population specific experience OR Bachelors degree in a non-human service related field + 4 ears of post-Bachelor’s populations specific experience OR Masters degree in a human service related field + 1 year of post-graduate population specific experience.  Top.


Clinical Manager: Foster Care: 7th Street Campus

Position will provide daily clinical oversight to the Foster Care program, including participating in making placement decisions, oversight of therapeutic interventions being implemented in the home, clinical staffing of cases, and clinical supervision of Foster Care staff.  This position will also assist in the initial and ongoing trainings of foster parents and provide psycho educational and support groups.  Flexible work hours required, as some evening and weekend work may be involved.  This position will also provide Diagnostic Assessments and Comprehensive Clinical Assessments for our 7th street campus and the Thompson Child Development Center as needed.   Required Education and Skills:  A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field and full licensure required.  Four years experience with Foster Care preferred but not required.  Must meet state requirements for a Qualified Mental Health Professional.  Must maintain a valid NC Drivers License and maintain minimum insurance requirements.Top.


Foster Care Manager: Durham, NC

The Foster Care Manager includes comprehensive and educational training of foster families, monitoring of foster placement, and coordination of treatment services to ensure success of the child and family.  Collects, organizes, and analyzes recruitment strategies, foster parent pre-licensing classes, and orientations to continually improve desired outcomes for growing foster care department.  Responsible for training new and existing staff on the clinical and administrative requirements for documentation required by the staff and staff requirements for clinical oversight and documentation of foster parents.  Applicant must have a flexible schedule and is required to provide 24/7 on-call to the consumers and families within the caseload.  Weekend on-call will be on a rotating basis with other Foster Care Coordinators.  Must maintain a valid NC driver’s license and clean driving record.  Bachelor’s degree in social Work or other related field in human services.  Travel required.  Position located in Durham, NC.  Must meet Qualified Professional Status.  (Bachelors degree in a human service related field + 2 years of post-bachelor’s population specific experience OR Bachelors degree in a non-human service related field + 4 ears of post-Bachelor’s populations specific experience OR Masters degree in a human service related field + 1 year of post-graduate population specific experience)Top.


Outpatient Therapist:  Durham, NC

The Outpatient Therapist is a direct service provider responsible for the quality and ethical delivery of individual, group, and family outpatient services at TCFF.    The Outpatient Therapist is responsible for providing diagnosis, assessment, and treatment to children, and/or families where behavior problems, emotional instability, neglect, physical, sexual, and/or emotional abuse is evident.  A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field and full licensure as an Independent Practitioner within 60 days of employment is required.   Applicant must provide documentation of Licensure application if not currently licensed.   One year post graduate experience in a clinical setting with child/adolescent population preferred.  Preferred experience with child mental health and issues of abuse and neglect.  Experience working with children struggling with mental health issues stemming from early traumas and/or attachment challenges.  Must have valid North Carolina Driver’s License and meet credentialing and privileging standards.  The major share of time for this position is at the Thompson Child & Family Services Center but also includes home visits (for in-home therapy when appropriate) and locations at designated community sites.  Hours for all Outpatient Therapists are flexible and vary according to client need.  This position does include evening work.  Weekend time could be occasional but would be rare. Client Rights/Quality Oversight Director: Saint Peter's Lane Campus

Seeking Mental Health Professional to assist the VP of Quality Assurance in the creation and oversight of the agencies Continuous Quality Improvement Program.  Individual will be responsible for all functions and requirements concerning Client Rights.  Incumbent will lead all investigations for alleged abuse/neglect and report to required oversight agencies.  The individual will be responsible for re-licensure, re-endorsements and updating policy and procedure manuals as necessary.  Requirements:  Masters Degree with a minimum of 2 years Mental Health experience.  Extensive knowledge of Federal and State standards including MH Service definitions, Licensure Rules, etc.  Strong organizational skills and excellent oral/written skills are a must.Top.
