Family Education team supports Joel in enrolling in Parenting Wisely classes

Joel works hard to provide for his teenage daughter. He is a single father and finds it challenging to communicate with his teens as they grow and evolve to become independent young adults. These communication difficulties led to an altercation between Joel and his daughter that resulted in physical discipline. He received a referral from his social worker to attend Family Education classes to learn alternative methods for discipline and how to communicate with his teen more effectively.

 

Joel wanted to enroll in our virtual Parenting Wisely course as he hoped to learn additional parenting skills to help with his daughter. Joel needed to complete paperwork to enroll. However, he struggles with technology and didn’t understand how to complete the forms online. Our Family Education team scheduled Joel to come into the office and work with one of our facilitators to complete his enrollment. As Joel is Spanish-speaking, an interpreter will be also be provided to assist during classes.
