Parenting Education Classes help support Families

Mr. Barco is the father of three young children. He works three jobs to provide the best he can for them. He co-parents with their mother and was referred to take a parenting education class by Youth & Family Services. He originally enrolled in the 12-week Nurturing Parenting Class, but due to work commitments struggled with attendance. The class facilitator encouraged Mr. Barco to step back and be realistic about his availability and a mutual decision was made to defer to the next class cycle.

Mr. Barco reorganized his work schedule to ensure he would be able to attend during the next class cycle. During classes he was one of the top participants in the program and opened up more and more in every session that was presented. Mr. Barco was able to complete the Nurturing Parenting Class with just a single, unavoidable absence due to a family emergency. He is now one step closer to where he would like to be with co-parenting his family.

‘I am very proud of myself and everyone else – we have successfully completed this 12-week program’ ~ Mr. Barco
