Patricia finally agrees to therapy

Patricia finally agrees to therapy

At the age of 9, Patricia entered foster care due to domestic violence in the home. She moved through four foster homes and endured unfortunate verbal, physical, and sexual abuse. She has since suffered with anger issues. This resulted in her arrest for assault with a deadly weapon with a minor present. When released, she moved in with a neighbor, but eventually became homeless and ended up in a shelter with her children.

At the shelter, DSS became involved as they checked on her children, and although initially reluctant – Patricia finally agreed to therapy. Through therapy, Patricia was able to identify the source of her anger specifically, and decrease the number of altercations. As a result, this increased her opportunities overall and she was able to find her own place, a job, and manage her children so well that her DSS case was eventually closed.
