Therapeutic foster care allowed Ronnie to heal in a family environment.

Therapeutic foster care allowed Ronnie to heal in a family environment.

Ronnie is like most teens and loves to play video games. He is passionate about finding a job and becoming independent. Ronnie has been in foster care for 4 years, and struggles being apart from his father, who he has a strong bond with. After entering foster care, Ronnie’s behavior escalated due to the frustration of being away from his family and the disappointments of delayed court dates. His increase in needs resulted in Ronnie being transferred into a Level III home.

After treatment and regaining stability, he was stepped down to therapeutic foster care and was able to return to his initial foster family. Since his return, his behaviors greatly improved and he is working on better and more positive ways to address frustrations and disappointments. He is now building bonds with his foster parents, and was recently able to reunite with his biological sister. She was able to join him in this foster home where they both can thrive.

”The training and support we provide to therapeutic foster homes gives kids like Ronnie a second chance at a more positive and happy future” – Ronnie’s foster care coordinator.
