As a child in the Friends of the Children – Charlotte program, the weekly contact and engagement with his mentor helped. When school started back virtually in the Fall, and a learning pod was established, Willian’s desire for learning was fulfilled by all the additional support and educational activities provided. The interaction with some of the other youth in the program, closer to his own age, also fulfilled much needed social support.
