As Thompson recognizes National Foster Care Month, we highlight the increased need for foster homes in North Carolina, particularly teens experiencing behavioral difficulties.

TFCO is a fostering option that differs from the traditional model of foster care. The program centers around treatment and targeted therapy for both the youth and family – this strengthens long term success.

Past trauma is a common issue for many who deal with mental health issues, and Thompson programs such as TFCO address past traumas in a way that allow can help youth to conquer such challenges.

Julius talks about how the various components of the program come together.

TFCO Program Supervisor Julius Mack outlines the differences between TFCO and the traditional foster care model in this interview with Thompson Communication Specialist Robert Burns.
