Treatment Foster Care – Oregon a success for Sadie, her parents and foster parents

Treatment Foster Care – Oregon a success for Sadie, her parents and foster parents

Sadie is a young teen who finally found her love of learning. She is beginning to enjoy school and feels control over her life – for the first time. Sadie has been in residential care for over two years after being adopted by a family she never met. She was failing classes and not on track to complete high school. Her adoptive parents were doubtful she would ever be able to return to their home. Treatment Foster Care – Oregon (TFCO) was a glimmer of hope for all of them.

After enrolling in the program, her TFCO foster parents focused on creating consistent expectations and a positive environment for Sadie. The TFCO clinical team supported this consistency and helped move Sadie to a more forward-thinking mindset. Over summer break, Sadie worked with her skills coach on school credit recovery and working at her first-ever part-time job. Sadie is Thompson’s first ‘graduate’ from this program and is passing all her classes with high academic marks, has recovered all her school credits, and should graduate high school this June.

‘We were supported 100% by our TFCO clinical team, and look forward to our next child’ ~ Sadie’s TFCO foster parents.
