Thompson welcomes Greg Taylor as new Board Chair

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina – Thompson Child & Family Focus welcomes its newest Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, Greg Taylor, who has dedicated much of his volunteer time to children and health care.

Taylor earned a B.A. in Sociology from Yale College in 1973, and then earned his Master’s in Finance, Accounting and Economics from Northwestern University in 1975.

Taylor’s career has been mostly within the fields of high-tech manufacturing, finance, and consulting. Taylor started in finance at the Zenith Radio Company, then moved to Ernst and Young, and subsequently held high-level executive roles at Kearney National, Imagitex Electronic Imaging, Scientific Atlanta, Bank of America, and Accenture.

Taylor has also given his time to several organizations to serve as a Board member.

He first served on the board of Gwinnett Technical College in Atlanta, and then on the board of the Gwinnett Hospital System, serving on the Finance and Audit Committees, where he developed a deep interest in the field of health care. In Charlotte, he served on multiple boards from 2003-2008, including the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center (Finance and Audit Committees), National Kidney Foundation of the Carolinas as Board Chair, and The Levine Museum of the New South (Governance Committee).

Currently, Taylor serves on Boards for the Hospitality House of Charlotte (originally on the Governance Committee, now currently on the Finance Committee) and the Brookstone School (Finance Committee). With Thompson, he’s served on the Development, Foundation, and Executive Committees.

In Mr. Taylor’s role as Chair, he looks forward to being a sounding board to the executive leadership team. His aim is to continue reaching out to the community to help the board start reflecting the clientele being served.
