Dylan’s Foster Parents helped him to find his inner strength

Dylan’s Foster Parents helped him to find his inner strength

Dylan is 10 years old, loves eating out, playing video games, and seeing his brothers. He spent most of his life in and out of foster care due to verbal and physical abuse. He has been fortunate to be able to return to the same foster family after each unsuccessful attempt to reunite with his biological mother and siblings. His mother’s parental rights were recently been terminated. Dylan’s increasingly aggressive behavior led to his ‘usual’ foster parents declining further placement.

Dylan’s foster care coordinator determined that Therapeutic Foster Care was the best option to ensure that Dylan could receive the additional therapy and support he needs. Despite a rocky start, Dylan made great progress and has been able to process and start to heal from the trauma and loss of contact with his biological family. He is now on the road to being adopted by this family, and has stated that he wants to become a good man like his ‘Dad’ so that he too can become a foster parent.
