Thompson is a nonprofit agency. Program fees do not cover the cost of excellence that accompanies all Thompson services. Life for our children is threatened not only by terrible experiences but by lingering negative effects of a troublesome economy. Your critical support sustains the work we do and the lives we change.
Let us help you discover how you can share your time, treasure and talents with our incredible children and families!
Funds are donated directly to Thompson through one time, reoccurring, or pledge gifts. You can also specify that your donation go towards a program or project (like Friends of the Children)! Click here to donate today.
Foster a Child
If you are exploring the idea of becoming a foster parent or you are ready to begin today, our training course will introduce you to Thompson and provide guidance on the certification process. You can positively impact the lives of these children; please don’t let this opportunity pass you by! Learn more…
Leave A Legacy
The Children’s Heritage Society is a way for Thompson to honor those who have remembered the organization with a legacy gift. This gift may be in the form of an estate gift, charitable trust, insurance policy, or gift designated to Thompson through a will. The special contributions from our Children’s Heritage Society members will help provide services for children and families in North Carolina well into the future.

Help us with items we need! See here to find a list of our current needs. For our residential clients, we are always looking for toiletries and school supplies. In order to keep our foster families equipped, we are also often in need of diapers, formula, and seasonally appropriate clothing for children of all ages. Gift cards also go a long way for foster families in need of buying supplies for placements on the fly!
