General Ledger Accountant:  St. Peter’s Lane Campus – Matthews, NC

Thompson Child & Family Focus has an immediate opening for an experienced General Ledger Accountant. The GL Accountant is responsible for assigned general ledger accounts on a monthly basis, reconciling all balance sheet accounts and cash receipts recording.  Must be able to work independently and must be detail oriented and have a positive disposition.  Duties will include assisting with accounts payable and account receivable functions – performing accounting functions necessary to document, process, post, and verify financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records. Candidate must have knowledge of GAAP, reconciliations, general ledger, and the accounting cycle.  Must be able to effectively manage accounting workload in order to meet all accounting and state-mandated filing deadlines.  Required education and skills: Four-year degree in Accounting from an accredited University and a minimum of 5 years applicable field experience. Thompson Connect Youth Partner:  St. Peter’s Lane Campus – Matthews, NC

Thompson, located in the Charlotte/Matthews area, has an opening for a position in a new short-term residential and community-based program working with adolescents ages 12-17.  The Youth Partner (YP) must have experience in engaging and communicating with youth on a level that provides support to the recovery process and to achieve positive outcomes. The YP will educate youth, families, providers, and the community about the Wraparound process and services; role model effective behavior for the youth to show a pattern of having healthy relationships with others; help the youth learn self-advocacy skills to articulate talents and strengths; show positive and healthy responses to stress and conflict, and demonstrate positive social skills indicative of a role model.  The Youth Partner must be committed to forming relationships with the youth or young adults they work with and capable of being patient, culturally aware, and respectful. YP must be willing to complete NC Your Move Leadership Series and the National Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Support curriculum as well as Vroon VDB Coaching and Training credentialing in the first year of employment.  Qualifications include: Life experience as a beneficiary of mental health or substance abuse services: AND a Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field; OR Associate’s Degree in a Human Services field from an accredited school AND one year of experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth; OR a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of four years of experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth.  Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of families.

Residential Care Specialist – FT & PRN: St. Peter’s Lane Campus – Matthews, NC

Thompson Child & Family Focus, located in the Charlotte/Matthews area, has openings for the Residential Care Specialist position in 2 different residential treatment programs.

PRTF (Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility): This position provides 24-hour direct care to children ages 6 – 13 in the residential treatment program by providing a safe therapeutic home setting in a positive, consistent and structured environment. This includes mental health support and documentation based on service goals and plans for each client. This position plans provides and supervises the daily activities of the clients to build self-esteem and appropriate peer interaction for each child. This position is responsible for building a safe and positive relationship with each child using basic principles of reality therapy without punitive approaches while providing engaging, nurturing structure. This individual must have the ability to appropriately intervene to meet the needs of the child and their family members gain the skills and confidence to address issues and problems as they take place.

Thompson Connect: Individuals in this program work with adolescent clients ages 12 – 17 in a short-term residential treatment program. This position will provide guidance, support and mentoring to adolescent clients including assisting with transitional living skills and daily functioning.  This person must have the ability to appropriately intervene to meet the needs of the adolescents and their collaterals to gain the skills and confidence to address issues and problems as they take place. This position is responsible for teaching and modeling independent living skills as it relates to the adolescent population and for teaching and modeling healthy and safe relationships.

Annual Fund Manager:  St. Peter’s Lane Campus – Matthews, NC

Thompson Child & Family Focus, a non-profit located in the Charlotte-Matthews area, is seeking an individual to oversee the overall success of the agency’s annual giving program to raise $375,000 in unrestricted dollars to benefit programs across the Thompson continuum of care. The manager directs and administers all aspects of annual giving and donor communications to include: direct mail; donor database; gift processing and accounting; donor recognition and stewardship; and pledge receivables.

Donor Communication & Data Management

  • Processes and acknowledges voluntary gifts, account updates and documentation, production of standard and special reports, and related communication with donors
  • Prepares story content for all donor communications including solicitation appeals, newsletters, e-communications, mid-level and major gift case statements
  • Develops and tracks annual budget for donor communications
  • Analyzes and tracks all annual fund solicitations regularly and adjusts strategies/goals on an ongoing basis
  • Manages the Direct Mail program in conjunction with the direct mail provider including overseeing the creation of the yearly operating document and all aspects of the production calendar
  • Researches and maintains up-to-date donor profiles to determine potential giving abilities

Donor Cultivation & Strategy

  • Identifies prospective and current donors, researches giving histories recommends individual ask amounts and set overall annual fund dollar and participation goals in collaboration with Chief Development Officer
  • Working in conjunction with the Marketing and Communications Coordinator creates annual donor communications calendar and oversees the production of direct mail printed materials as well as all other donor communications

This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of development experience This person must have excellent communication, organizational and project management skills with the ability to work in a team environment. This position also requires strong analytical skills and an above average computer knowledge.  Raiser’s Edge experience highly preferred.

Thompson is seeking a dynamic, talented and passionate clinician who wants to make a significant impact on the lives of youth & families. This therapist will provide high-quality individual & family therapy in the home & community environment in which their clients live. Nurse Manager:  St. Peter’s Ln. – Matthews, NC

Thompson Child and Family Focus has an opening for a Nurse Manager at our Matthews campus. With help from the nursing staff and psychiatrist, this person will oversee the medical needs of up to 24 clients ages 6 – 13 in our psychiatric residential treatment facility. This person will be responsible for supervising 4 full-time nurses as well as a staff of 3 PRNs.  Duties will include scheduling the nursing staff to cover 12 hour shifts for 24 hour, around the clock care; being on-call as needed for scheduling issues and policy/procedure questions that may arise; keeping staff in compliance with PRTF regulations and training; monitoring and ordering nursing and medical supplies as needed; interviewing potential new hires when there are open positions and training all new nursing staff. This person will oversee medication administration by nursing and other PRTF staff, ensuring TCFF policies and procedures are observed. This person will be responsible for annually reviewing policies and procedures related to nursing (or as needed). A BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing with a current licensure to practice as an RN in North Carolina is required with supervisory experience preferred. Experience in pediatrics or psychiatry preferred.

Quality Improvement Specialist:  St. Peter’s Ln. – Matthews, NC

Assists programs in maintaining compliance with internal and external standards as well as supporting Continuous Quality Improvement efforts for the organization. This includes monitoring compliance with external standards set by stakeholders and accrediting/licensing agencies such as Joint Commission, Medicaid/MCO, DHHS,  DHSR,  DSS, and DCDEE. Also, ensures compliance with internal standards by conducting regular internal reviews of program services and monitors Plan of Corrections. Conducts quality audits of IRIS reports and ensures reporting procedures are being followed. Assists with the grievance process by conducting internal investigations of client rights violations and complaints.

Bachelor’s Degree required. Must have (3) years Behavioral health/Human service experience.  Knowledge of Medicaid standards, NC Managed Care, Continuous Quality Improvement, and regulatory compliance required. Thompson Connect Facilitator:  St. Peter’s Lane Campus – Matthews, NC

Thompson, located in the Charlotte/Matthews area, has an opening for a position in a new short-term residential and community based program working with adolescents ages 12-17.  The Thompson Connect Facilitator will provide leadership in engaging high-need youth and their teams in developing, implementing and monitoring an intensive individualized care plan using the phases of the High Fidelity Wraparound Process.  This includes helping the team develop a natural support system, working on the development of an integrated plan, and establishing a strong relationship with the community. Works in collaboration with the Program Supervisor and Youth Partner to strengthen team rapport and overcome challenges.  The Facilitator will facilitate Child and Family Team meetings.

Qualifications include: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services related field, Master’s Degree preferred, at least two years of experience providing services to children and families, knowledge of community resources, experience with different systems (school, mental health, or juvenile justice), experience facilitating small groups preferably with multiple system involvement, and willingness to complete the HFW Coaching and Training credentialing.  Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of families. Program Manager:  St. Peter’s Lane Campus – Matthews, NC

Thompson Child & Family Focus, located in the Charlotte/Matthews area, has an opening for the Lead Program Supervisor position in the Psychiatric residential treatment program.  The Lead Program Supervisor shall oversee the daily operations of the residential attachment program, cottage activities and care of clients, as well as, coaching the other supervisors and giving direction to the overall residential milieu.  The Lead Supervisor shall assist in coordination of care, staffing patterns, on-call coverage, budgets, and environments that support the treatment philosophy. Duties include supervising Program Supervisors, Residential Care Specialists, and shift leaders, as well as working as part of PRTF leadership team to provide the best care possible for the children and families in the program.

This individual must have the ability to appropriately intervene to meet the needs of staff, the youth in care, and their family members.  They must as possess the skills and confidence to address issues and problems as they take place. This position is also responsible for coaching Supervisors in doing the same thing.

Program Supervisor:  St. Peter’s Lane Campus – Matthews, NC

Thompson Child & Family Focus, located in the Charlotte/Matthews area, has an opening for the Program Supervisor position in one of our residential treatment programs. Program Supervisor shall oversee the daily operations of the residential attachment program, cottage activities and care of clients. Supervisor shall assist in coordination of care, staffing patterns, budgets, and environments that support the treatment philosophy. Duties include supervising Residential Care Specialists and shift leaders, as well as working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide the best care possible for the children and families in the program.

Individuals in this program work with adolescent clients ages 12 – 17 in a short-term residential treatment program. This program will provide guidance, support and mentoring to adolescent clients including assisting with transitional living skills and daily functioning. This person must have the ability to appropriately intervene to meet the needs of the adolescents and their collaterals to gain the skills and confidence to address issues and problems as they take place. This position is responsible for teaching and modeling independent living skills as it relates to the adolescent population and for teaching and modeling healthy and safe relationships.

Physical Requirements: Will frequently perform a wide variety of physical tasks such as standing, walking, running, stooping, bending, climbing stairs and lifting of individuals, which requires strength, coordination, endurance, and agility. Persons with any medical problems such as joint problems, obesity, arthritis or cardiopulmonary conditions, where it would be unwise or not possible to engage in moderate physical exertion should not be considered.

Master’s Degree in a Human Services field with a minimum of two years of experience working with adolescent males, or Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of four years supervisory experience and two years of experience working with population specific youths. Intensive In-Home Specialist:  Wendover Road – Charlotte, NC

The IIH Specialist works as a member of a 3-person team, led by a licensed or provisionally licensed clinician, to provide direct and indirect intensive in-home services.
