Transitional Living Coach:  Wendover Rd. Campus – Charlotte, NC

Thompson is looking for an exceptional, passionate, dedicated human services professional to help change the lives of young adults in our community. Thompson is launching a new program which will support young adults ages 16-21 as they transition to adulthood. These transitional living “coaches” will work with a caseload of eight young adults, most of whom are transitioning out of the foster care or juvenile justice systems. The coach will support each youth in achieving their individualized goals which will support a successful transition to adulthood. Expected outcomes from this program will be young adults maintaining stable housing, engaging in productive work or educational activities, remaining free from legal involvement and becoming self-sufficient. Coaches will work in the home and community, meeting these youth where they work, live and spend their time. Building strong, trusting therapeutic relationships will be a critical skill for all Thompson coaches. The program length will average 6 – 9 months.

Required Education:

Bachelors Degree in Human Services or related field (Psychology, Criminal Justice, Sociology), Masters degree preferred. A minimum of two years’ experience working with young adults and/or at-risk youth. Experience working with Person Centered Plans, Medicaid services and authorizations strongly preferred.

Grants Manager:  St. Peter’s Lane Campus – Matthews, NC

Responsible for pre-and-post award grant reporting and accounting.  Coordinate, analyze, and submit grant deliverables, ensuring compliance with funding source guidelines and eligible cost reporting.  Create, update, and maintain budgets, quarterly reports, and cash and-in kind reporting back to grantors.  Monitor and report on program expenditures.  Update and maintain general ledgers related to project specific grant expenses.  Coordinate and communicate effectively amongst program leaders and administrative support teams.

Residential Care Specialist – FT & PRN: St. Peter’s Lane Campus – Matthews, NC

Thompson Child & Family Focus, located in the Charlotte/Matthews area, has openings for the Residential Care Specialist position in 2 different residential treatment programs.

PRTF (Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility): This position provides 24-hour direct care to children ages 6 – 13 in the residential treatment program by providing a safe therapeutic home setting in a positive, consistent and structured environment. This includes mental health support and documentation based on service goals and plans for each client. This position plans provides and supervises the daily activities of the clients to build self-esteem and appropriate peer interaction for each child. This position is responsible for building a safe and positive relationship with each child using basic principles of reality therapy without punitive approaches while providing engaging, nurturing structure. This individual must have the ability to appropriately intervene to meet the needs of the child and their family members gain the skills and confidence to address issues and problems as they take place.

Thompson Connect: Individuals in this program work with adolescent clients ages 12 – 17 in a short-term residential treatment program. This position will provide guidance, support and mentoring to adolescent clients including assisting with transitional living skills and daily functioning.  This person must have the ability to appropriately intervene to meet the needs of the adolescents and their collaterals to gain the skills and confidence to address issues and problems as they take place. This position is responsible for teaching and modeling independent living skills as it relates to the adolescent population and for teaching and modeling healthy and safe relationships.

Physical Requirements: Will frequently perform a wide variety of physical tasks such as standing, walking, running, stooping, bending, climbing stairs and lifting of individuals, which requires strength, coordination, endurance, and agility.  Persons with any medical problems such as joint problems, obesity, arthritis or cardiopulmonary conditions, where it would be unwise or not possible to engage in moderate physical exertion should not be considered.

Annual Fund Manager:  St. Peter’s Lane Campus – Matthews, NC

Thompson Child & Family Focus, a non-profit located in the Charlotte-Matthews area, is seeking an individual to oversee the overall success of the agency’s annual giving program to raise $375,000 in unrestricted dollars to benefit programs across the Thompson continuum of care. The manager directs and administers all aspects of annual giving and donor communications to include: direct mail; donor database; gift processing and accounting; donor recognition and stewardship; and pledge receivables.

Donor Communication & Data Management

  • Processes and acknowledges voluntary gifts, account updates and documentation, production of standard and special reports, and related communication with donors
  • Prepares story content for all donor communications including solicitation appeals, newsletters, e-communications, mid-level and major gift case statements
  • Develops and tracks annual budget for donor communications
  • Analyzes and tracks all annual fund solicitations regularly and adjusts strategies/goals on an ongoing basis
  • Manages the Direct Mail program in conjunction with the direct mail provider including overseeing the creation of the yearly operating document and all aspects of the production calendar
  • Researches and maintains up-to-date donor profiles to determine potential giving abilities

Donor Cultivation & Strategy

  • Identifies prospective and current donors, researches giving histories recommends individual ask amounts and set overall annual fund dollar and participation goals in collaboration with Chief Development Officer
  • Working in conjunction with the Marketing and Communications Coordinator creates annual donor communications calendar and oversees the production of direct mail printed materials as well as all other donor communications

This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of development experience This person must have excellent communication, organizational and project management skills with the ability to work in a team environment. This therapist will provide high-quality individual & family therapy in the home & community environment in which their clients live. This position is also responsible for coaching Supervisors in doing the same thing.

Supervisor shall assist in coordination of care, staffing patterns, budgets, and environments that support the treatment philosophy. Duties include supervising Residential Care Specialists and shift leaders, as well as working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide the best care possible for the children and families in the program.

Individuals in this program work with adolescent clients ages 12 – 17 in a short-term residential treatment program. This program will provide guidance, support and mentoring to adolescent clients including assisting with transitional living skills and daily functioning. This person must have the ability to appropriately intervene to meet the needs of the adolescents and their collaterals to gain the skills and confidence to address issues and problems as they take place. This position is responsible for teaching and modeling independent living skills as it relates to the adolescent population and for teaching and modeling healthy and safe relationships.

Physical Requirements: Will frequently perform a wide variety of physical tasks such as standing, walking, running, stooping, bending, climbing stairs and lifting of individuals, which requires strength, coordination, endurance, and agility. Persons with any medical problems such as joint problems, obesity, arthritis or cardiopulmonary conditions, where it would be unwise or not possible to engage in moderate physical exertion should not be considered.

Master’s Degree in a Human Services field with a minimum of two years of experience working with adolescent males, or Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of four years supervisory experience and two years of experience working with population specific youths.
